It has a surplus until sometime in the 2030's I believe after which benefits would fall a certain percentage if nothing were done. A government program with a surplus-- yeah, that sucks. People like Musk going around calling it a Ponzi scheme which it isn't aren't helping. The only real problem with Social Security is it works and this makes fools of the people who hate government.

Trans people have already been through so much hell. Many of them have lost their families, friends, jobs over the years of coming to terms with their identity. They must be experiencing a lot of anguish right now. My heart goes out to them. (I am thinking of some individuals in particular I got to know well.)

@Nina I have An Invitation to Indian Cooking, and everything I've made from it has been delicious. The recipes tend to have a million ingredients, but most of them are spices. If you don't have a solid spice collection, that can be pricey, but if you already have a bunch of spices and dried beans, you can cook a lot of the dishes by buying the meat of chioce, some yogurt, and some cilantry.

"Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Amy Coney Barrett siding with the liberal justices." Maybe a glimmer of hope? The fact that the vote was even close on what is obviously an illegal move by the president is astounding.

What bullshit. This is just preparatory language for blaming the Democrats if/when we have a shutdown. The GOP controls all three branches of government. If they can't keep the government up and running without Democratic votes, this problem is on them.

I think it is fun! I would love to attend a party there. No way would I want to live there. Oh, and that blue and white check area rug goes with nothing. I am wondering if the house, stripped of all the byzantine gilded garbage, actually has good bones. Impossible to tell from the photos. Obviously they have an insane amount of money to be able to irrigate a lawn like that. I suppose it is possible they are in a less desertified area of AZ, but still.
