You can pry my smartphone from my cold dead hands. These days we're expected to have not only a phone but a computer hooked up to the Internet. The smartphone does everything except print but you can use it to do that too I have a little trouble using the Moto 2024 screen because of the size, my near sightedness, and because my finger is often typing a wrong character that will turn any word into gibberish. I have no serious complaints about the phone but I want the largest screen I can get. I'd like to have a home computer but it will not be soon. I lost two phones in a row (Moto Edge 2024, Moto G 2025). I later found the Moto G 2025 (low end even if they get $300 for it) but I didn't remember the code and it's a brick. I want to find a way to factory reset it and sell it. I got this one brand new locked for $179. and pay $45 a month for unlimited everything with Straight Talk (Verizon). I remember when cell phones were just cellphones. The reception was excellent. You could replace the battery. They had antennae for safety. You could buy one for around $35 and they were built to last. Good times.

You might be the second-last person because I hadn't heard of it until now. It sounds interesting. Maybe I'll try to find it.

Glad I don't use cash any more. There's a place, somewhere in the White Mountains, that takes a penny and flattens and stretches it into a medallion suitable for jewelry. That would be fun.

@Steve-Miller said in What’s cookin’ good lookin?: In an effort to eliminate doom scrolling, which was harshing my mellow, I’ve been watching YouTube cooking shows and listening to cooking podcasts. The internet will just have to get along without me. I’ve learned a lot, and I’ve especially learned that even classically trained chefs do things differently from one another. So I ask you: Apron or no? Towel hanging from apron? Bench scraper? Or scrape cutting board with knife? Blade up or blade down? Garlic in with the aromatics or just for the last minute for fear of burning? Jarlic? Frozen garlic? Countertop trash bowl when chopping? Mis en place? Clean as you go or all at once? Where do you stand? No apron. Scrape board with knife blade up. Garlic early and often. Jarlic I confess unless it’s to be consumed fresh (not cooked). Mis - yes. Re cleaning it depends on the recipe. Some recipes give you time, some don’t. If I can I do.

Define free speech? Freedom is limited and rightly so, to enable society to function. If someone writes or stands on the street shouting kill the... Monarch/Irish/Seeks/Nazis ... or says support this terrorist group, when our elected government has legally defined the group ... then the UK law & order protecting life will be imposed on the idiot.

Damn I always hated those shots. Felt more like a bee sting than a needle.

Kindergarten is pretty early for TAG programs. And I say this as a parent who had a kid in NYC TAG kindergarten, 30 years ago. It was great, but not all kids have access enrichment programs before kindergarten, and testing before kindergarten just reinforces the strong bias towards money.
