Website Shows How Much Google’s AI Can Glean From Your Photos

Basic message is this: online/cloud-based photo storage/sharing sites may expose a lot about you, AI makes this easier -- so if you want to use one at all, choose one that encrypts everything with you being the only one to hold the encryption key.

I imagine this applies to all documents stored online, not just photos.

      Without a doubt!

I don't use Google Photos, I only use iCloud, which isn't mentioned in that article...

I think all of our data is a lost cause. A former member of this forum used to say once you put anything on the internet your privacy was gone from you forever. I thought about what he used say over the last few years and decided he was right.

Whatever you post on line may well end up on the front page of the NYT tomorrow.

Upside is that no one reads newspapers anymore. 😎

Anything you type into a computer or other device, if that device is connected to the internet, it is not private. This has always been true. And you can't erase it, either. Just be circumspect in your communications you wish to keep private. Use the phone (land line?) or write a letter. Or meet in person.
