        Great article.

We had a couple of Lustron homes in Arlington Heights up until fairly recently. They got torn down and were replaced by soul-less HSOs (house-shaped objects)

@Mik oooh that’s a fun article! And very true too. The closer you are to older neighborhoods, the more interesting the houses.

Nearly all have some charm, I like the FLW and the crafts bungalow.

Though my favourite style is the classic colonial bungalow, built in Malaya and India.

I'd add that we are fortunate to now live in a 1960 architect designed house, which is a very pleasant space.
On paper, basically four squares with corners touching laid out in a diagonal. Fit/draw another four blocks next to them. Add a second floor and a roof that overhangs the outer triangles formed between square blocks.
It must have been fun to design.

They list both a Craftsman bungalow and a California bungalow. Wiki says the California variant is usually smaller. I didn’t know that!

Love me a Craftsman house but my favorite will always be Spanish Revival.
