Shopping frustration

I wanted to buy new drawstrings for 2 sets of pajama pants, as the old ones frayed and snapped. Wanted to avoid Amazon. But couldn’t find them in online searches of Macy’s, Target or Michael’s craft stores.
If you type “drawstrings” into Amazon’s search box, boom — dozens of options come up immediately.
What would you do? Use a different search term? Search different types of stores?
Yes…ordered from the big A. Not thrilled, but it’s only 5 bucks.

I never use Amazon. Not Me got me banned. Long story. Not worth telling. I use Walmart+. Same difference.
I haven't used eBay in ages.
I got a sweet 28" 2.5mm stainless steel rolo chain on Etsy last month. Those specifications might sound easy to find They're not.
My shopping frustrations lately have been with choosing the right fit for clothes I've ordered.
Sweatpants that were 28". I wear 30". I wanted them to be straight leg without elastic and short so I didn't step on them or get them wet. They were still so long I was stepping on them. I rolled each side up 4" and used 8 safety pins.
I could have exchanged them but decided the hassle wasn't worth it.
I also bought a sweater that was M and the sleeve length is longer than my arm and hand put together. I can't wear it anywhere because it's huge but decided to keep it for the same reason. I use it as a layer to keep warm.
These two items came from the same company. Now I know they run large.
I also learned I have to be much more careful about fit when ordering clothes I can't try on.

Daniel: I refuse to buy clothes or shoes without a try-on. Except for maybe shirts. My feet need orthotics, jeans come in myriad “fits.” The cycle of buying and returning seems like such a waste to me, but it must be good for people who must have the widest choices or the oddball sizes.
