    Hmmmm...

    Here's the virtually staged pic:

    Here's the actual space:

Good grief! I sort of hope that the staging was done using pre-set parameters, as opposed a person actually making those choices one by one. Because otherwise it seems more deceptive than anything else.

Well, except for the floor and curtains, it appears to represent things that could be done with actual staging??

The "blinds" on the left make it look like it's a wall rather than windows, even to the point of hanging a picture on one of the "blinds". Plus from the exterior photos of the room, and the description of "screened porch" on the floor plan, I think that room only has screens and no storm windows.

And while one could put a TV in front of the door that goes out to the yard, why would one?

The virtual staging shows a hardwood floor. I would be pretty surprised if that's what is under there.

            That's not staging. That's cheating.

If that's from a real estate ad, I would think truth in advertising would kick in. I loathe the nonsense we're having to live with these days on account of tech giants.

              The industrial revolution cheapened everything.

                It's from the MLS listing.

                https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/Arlington-Heights_IL_60004_M85643-31642

There's also a factual error in the listing. The house is in Wheeling Township, not Elk Grove Township.

                Sloppy work by the agent.

The line between presenting possibilities ("look how nice it would be if you did this!") and deception is tricky, but this one is too close to deception IMO.

P.S. I looked at the listing on Zillow & @wtg 's link, and none of the staged photos have the "virtually staged" watermark, which I've seen used in other photos. Just adding that would help a lot IMO.

                      Yes indeed.

But I understand the appeal of virtual staging in a nice home whose furniture has been removed. Staging a home with real furniture adds thousands to the cost of selling your home while putting virtual furniture in place costs a few hundred.
