Who’s in the heat wave ?
-
I had forgotten - the next verse is actually my favorite:
She started a heat wave
By letting her seat wave
And in such a way that
The customers say that
She certainly can can-can -
It’s nice here in Hooterville today - low 80’s and not very humid.
Tomorrow we’re leaving for Pennsylvania to see Fallingwater. Weather there is predicted to be mid-90’s and the house has no air conditioning. Maybe the stream running underneath it will make it feel cooler.
-
We are supposed to hit the 90’s for a few days this week. Which is warm for here, but it’s dry and it cools off into the 50’s at night, so we do ok. My brother is not happy in Nevada - 105 today, I think. And only cools off to the 70’s.
-
Hot in Portland, high 90’s all weekend. Just in time for the Waterfront Blues Festival. We’ve been going in the evening, too hot during the day.
I gave my plants/lawn a deep watering yesterday; today my hydrangeas are scorching at the edges. I’ll get up early and water before heading to the gym. Poor plants.

Daughter is in Houston. No power, and a heat advisory. they have 2 cats, which makes things more difficult. They had to drive the car around to charge their phones. Think I need to get her a solar battery phone/laptop charger for her birthday… Kinda worried about them.
-
@Jodi A solar charger would be greatly appreciated, no doubt. In my experience the solar panels need to be as large as possible to do a decent job. Most can do what they claim if you have a day or two to wait on them to do it.

Amazon sells battery packs that will not only charge your phones but will also jump start your car. From what I can tell you can charge phones dozens of times before you have to recharge the battery pack.
I keep one in each car.
-
They finally got power back on this morning.
-
@Jodi glad to hear that!

@Lisa recommended this one. The price goes down to $75 or 80 pretty routinely.
