Every heard of a Next of Kin box, aka "death box"? Everything your family and/or executor needs to know to take care of your estate after your gone.

ABC's Good Morning America does Deals and Steals, and I got the Nokbox Lite. You certainly could do this yourself, but they've done all the thinking for you. We started setting it up today and I have to say it's pretty nifty.

Don't have that, but I do have the Sorry, it’s Your Problem Now, Because I'm Dead book. Have not opened it yet. What's the rush?
Think I saw a reference to it here.

We have everything organized and our daughter has seen it and knows where it is. Trust, living wills, POAs, assets and contacts,we only have one child and it would be unforgivable to leave her with a mess. The only thing we have not specified is what to do either our remains and we’re working on that.

Does it include an easy way to keep it up to date? I can imagine many things will change if we should be so lucky to live long lives.

Every few years these things need updating. The Will less so, but the letter for your executors detailing your bank account details, items worth a few Bob etc. tends to change.

            How about your gravestone epitaph?
After watching my sisters struggle for 5 years over our parents' (in an era where our every particular is already recorded) I've asked for:

As @AndyD said, things need to be updated regularly; there is no magic bullet for that.

I found the Nokbox helpful because someone else has thought about exactly what information needs to be collected and maintained. It just jump starts the process.

It has tips pertaining to various categories (primary residence, investment accounts, online logins, etc.) for whoever will be settling the estate.

Here are a few samples of the pages that talk about how to get started. If you want to see a page about a particular category, just holler. I'll snap a pic and post it here.

You don't even have to put everything in the box. You can use the various categories to point to where something might be stored.

Yes. It’s spreadsheet based and we designed the sheet. Janet is an incredible organizer.
