    @wtg
    In fact, I did. I'm anticipating delivery around noon tomorrow.

    We had a meeting with a small group from our church yesterday afternoon. My wife made a lemon meringue pie (a specialty of hers) to share in honor of may birthday.

    Last night, we had a ground lamb. eggplant, and tomato dinner that is always a very good meal.

    Thanks for all the birthday wishes.

    Big Al

          It's here! I muddled through a Cole Porter tune (You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To) and Theme from The Apartment before I had to leave for a physical therapy appointment.

          I'm very, very rusty because I couldn't play at all while I was not in my home, and when I finally got there my old Yamaha Clavinova had broken and couldn't be repaired.

          I'll play some more after dinner tonight.

                My youngest son, his wife, and our grandaughter arrived for a short visit on Thursday and left about midday on Sunday. We subsequently heard Brahms' 4th Symphony and Kachaturian's Violin Concerto at Heinz Hall so I haven't been at the new piano too much. My older son has played it a little (he's a much better pianist than me). I had a doctor's appointment and physical therapy today, so it wasn't until I got home from those that I had a chance to play a little again before dinnertime.

                I must say that it is a real delight. The feel is very responsive l and the sound is very, very impressive. I've been using the Bosendorfer recordings almost exclusively. If someone comes to Pittsburgh, I'd be happy to share some time at the keyboard with other players.

                      I've been playing with some frequency. It had been a long time since I had an instrument to use, so I am very rusty. A bit of neuropathy in my little fingers is an extra impediment.

                      The piano is all that I expected. It is probably more than I could justify based on who will be playing it most frequently, but you only live once.

                      I've been rifling through the immense stacks of music I've accumulated over the years, picking out things that seem at least somewhat doable. There is a lot of satisfaction lurking there.
