    I agree, @wtg!
So, in that chair (let's call it Lisa's chair) I think brown works best... what do you think?

Did you look at the green? It looks close to the green in your rug....the reviews say it is a "nice olive"

Not a fan of the blue. It doesn't match anything else and the cool blue is the opposite spectrum of all the warm earthy tones you have going on in there.

The chair description says the legs are "sanded black matte" for all of them, so it might just be quirks of the lighting in the photo that's making them look lighter on some of the colors. It looks like they come disassembled anyway, so if the legs aren't as black as you want them, a can or two of spray paint could easily take care of that before you assemble them.

Yes, agree the blue would add a whole different dimension in a room that has a lot going on but that looks cohesive.

I'm a chicken so I'd probably go with brown. Do you have a sense how the green might look with the red circles art that would be hanging above it?

Oh and this week I got a postcard in the mail for 10% off from wayfair for first time customers - I just fished it out of my recycle pile. Let me know if you want it and I'll PM you the code (it's a one time use thing).

I had a hard time seeing the color of the green in the listing with just the chairs. There is a dining room set available with the same chairs, and I found the pic there of the set with the (olive) green chairs to have a better color rendering.

The rectangular legs repeat the rectangles in the rug.

                  Nice!

I think the green could work in this room, but maybe not in other rooms in the house, whereas the brown would work elsewhere as well as in here.

                    Anyway, here's the green:

I am almost decided on the brown.. But I am going to visit some local furniture stores this afternoon before ordering. Stay tuned!! 馃檪

Oh, @Lisa thank you for offering the coupon! Could you share it with me and I'll see if I can use it (on these sale items) -- if I can't, I'll let you know 馃檪

Visually speaking, I like the one that @Lisa posted, the one with the metal frame and open sides. It looks less bulky than the one you just posted, even if they have the same footprint, which might be good if you're trying to make things look less crowded. Read: Keep Mr SK happy.

The lines of the metal frame in Lisa's chair mirror the lines in the rug.

I chatted with customer service at Wayfair and they said that if I buy it, get it all assembled and don't think it's comfortable, I can return it.

Whether that's actually true or not, I won't know until I get to that point.

But I feel ok making the order... After I get from shopping in town a bit today. 馃檪

Yes, they do accept returns but you pay for the return shipping. I'm OK with paying a bit for an experiment that didn't turn out. Better than being out the entire cost of the item.

                                  @Lisa

Yes you can, and it works really well.

Are you on a phone/tablet or a computer?

                                  Computer:

Your avatar is in the upper right hand corner. Immediately to the left is a speech bubble. Click on it, and Chats will pop up.

Click All Chats and you get the full Chat Room function on the left side. Click on Create Chat Room and pick the User(s) you want to include in the Chat and then click Create.

Just type your message in. When you hit Enter or click on the arrow to the right, it sends the Chat. You can go back and edit or delete individual chat entries, too.

                                  On a phone/tablet:

It's pretty much the same, except you have to click on your avatar (upper right hand corner) in order for the speech bubble icon to appear. Don't have my iPad right here, but I think it follows the same path that I described above.

If you see a number on the Chat icon, it's telling you how many unread Chats you have. The little bell icon is for Notifications of all sorts, new Chats and whatever else you've asked to be notified about in your User Profile Settings. You can also ask for email notification that you have a new Chat. Or you can turn that off if the emails are intrusive.

Some nice features of Chat are that you can add Users to the Chat after it starts, and people can leave the Chat but come back later. And you can be notified when someone leaves one of your Chats if you choose that in your User Settings. And on, and on...

Lots of functionality available down to the individual User level. Means you don't have to live with defaults set for the entire forum (which I guess is now called a message board).

oh cool! I'll have to test it out!

From the photoshops, I don't think I like the green as much as the brown -- it seems to go kind of oddly with the wall color. Again, though, who really knows how accurate the color rendering is.

The only thing I'd be concerned about is the proportions - I am pretty good with picking styles that look right together but I am also admittedly very very bad with scale. I'd study up the measurements of those chairs and make sure they aren't too small or too big for the spot before ordering especially since you will have to pay to return them. At only 28ish inches high, they might be kind of short. How does that compare to your red chair?

I thought of one thing...Anyone think the three legged design might be an issue as far as stability is concerned? I mean, this chair will be in one place, not like a dining chair that slides in/out from under a table, but if someone is getting up and pushes back with their legs, will it want to tip backwards?
