Iβm playing two pieces in a recital on Sunday. This is piece number one. Wishing by Alexis Ffrench. Link to videoThe other piece is New Day which I think I shared a row rice recording of a whole back.

A lovely piece of music! For some reasons it evokes a day off from school! Very nicely played, SK. Much enjoyed it, thanks! Very nicely played, SK. Much enjoyed it, thanks!

I'm the same with Cavatina, which on the film Deerhunter is slooooow.
(I try to imagine Cleo Lane singing it slowly)@AndyD said in Another piano video: Cavatina Ohhh yes, that's another one where tempo is super important! (I mean, it's always important...) As I recall, I have a nice piano arrangement of that, but I never did much more than play through it a few times.

You always find such delightful pieces! Well done, and the piano sounded nice too. It's always a challenge with slower pieces to emulate a singing tone for the melody. You might try playing the longer notes just a little louder to give them "room" to sustain?

This is excellent advice, and I'd like to strive for that... but I don't really have the control I'd like, IOW when I'm recording, I get nervous and actually I'm playing faster than I want to. And the LH is so ever-present that I find it hard to truly bring out the RH. Well, and even when not recording, I find I can have a more accurate performance, or a more musical performance, but rarely both.
