At the hospital

We live in an old office building converted to condos. Built in the early 1900's has a claim to one of the first reinforced concrete buildings. 8th/top floor. Right behind the buiding the "L" tracks run (Chicago transit authority trains). Again, old and noisy - watch 'The Blues Brothers' to get an idea. If we have our windows or deck open, the trains are loud enough that we close everything when watching TV - and we are in the front of the building...
NASCAR is about the same loudness as the trains in our apartment with no breaks during the races or practices - a few hours each of each of the two days. Lots of concerts and other things going on in the park. (GET OFF OUR LAWN!) We haven't been out in the neighborhood or closer to the track during driving.
Traffic was actually a bit better today - I think lots of people left and others not going to the races aren't coming down. Friday was the worst with road closures and gridlock in our neighborhood!
-
Our neighborhood is noisy - lots of sirens and wanna be race drivers and motorcycles on the streets! Just about the worst are those 3 wheel motorcycle things with the giant speakers blasting!
-
Yikes! Hopefully today is the last day? Or maybe it ended yesterday?
-
Today is the last day with the 'best' teams/drivers competing.
-
@Rontuner so today will probably be the noisest

We just had a little rain here. Wonder what it looks like downtown. Race starts in like 15 minutes, I think.
-
Start of the race was dry, but now some light rain is slowing them down. They didn't have practices today, so it has been quieter until they started at 4:30

How is MrsTuner's shoulder doing?
-
Very well, thanks for asking! Ahead of the curve on PT, so that's good. How about MrWtg?
-
Thanks for asking, too!
Turned the corner a couple of days ago. Swelling and pain way better but still up and down. He starts his outpatient PT next week. We switched his therapy to the outpatient rehab at our local hospital instead of IBJI. The hospital PT is one-on-one and you pretty much get the same therapist each session. The big guys like IBJI and ATI seem to have their therapists working with multiple people at the same time. We didn’t think that was optimal.
Meanwhile, my superwoman neighbor had her knee done a week ago tomorrow and said she drove for the first time yesterday. That means she’s not taking any pain meds. This is her second TKR, and she said she didn’t take pain meds the first time around. She has amazing recuperative powers….

That’s how it was when I was doing PT for my plantar fasciitis, one PTist was taking care of several people, and each time you went, you might or might not have the same person. At the time I remember thinking if my problem were anything more serious, I wouldn’t like that set up, so I can’t imagine doing it like that after a TKR.
