That is cool! I love brooches and I wear them... because men aught to be able to wear beautiful things. Lord knows, they used to. I just picked up a few new ones (to me) at a small local antique shop just 10 minutes away on Sunday. This is the one currently on my 'going out' jacket:

The ones I bought Sunday ($5 each):

And part of my little collection:

      The industrial revolution cheapened everything.

@Bernard - those are very nice!

Guess the Little Free Museums are an evolving concept.

Someone in Portland is doing a mug exchange.

@wtg Do I have to take a mug home? (I’ve been downsizing mugs…) Although I do have some very beautiful mugs from JaMPDX like this one:

and the matching cream and sugar set.

@AdagioM That set is lovely! Especially the lady bugs.

I checked out their website and they have a lot of nice pieces.

JaMPDX are two very local ladies who do beautiful work. Meaghan used to work as a cake decorator, and she uses some of those same techniques on ceramic.

I picked up a lamp many years ago in a thrift shop; the shade was purchased separately. Reminds me of the PDX ladies work:

Took a good bit of time cleaning up that lamp. I think the previous owner was a smoker and it took some careful cleaning with a small toothbrush and Q-tips to get it looking nice. The applied flowers are unglazed, which made it even a bit more challenging!
