Inauguration being moved inside
-
To the Capitol Rotunda, ostensibly because of the dangerous cold. NWS forecast is for 23 degrees, lower with wind chills.
Oh, and because Reagan did it in 1985. Nice touch.
I think TFG is afraid the mall would be empty, and that looks bad on TV. Remember how goofy he got about crowd size during his first inauguration?
eta: Could also be that there is some threat of assassination that they're aware of....

Trump's picture looks awfully similar to his mug shot.

Maybe we need a caption contest....
Gonna be a long four years....
That's all I got.
-
May as well start some conspiracies...
Why isn't JD wearing a flag pin on his lapel? Is it a signal to his minders?
Inquiring minds want to know....

Waiting for the MINA movement to get more active... (Make Intolerance Normal Again)

My care-ometer is broken.

In fairness, there were two assassination attempts during the campaign.
I don't know why they moved it inside, though. I don't know why Reagan did it. I don't have a memory of him doing it, and didn't realize he did until reading the op.

I agree. Between the assassination attempts and the weather, I think moving it inside is a smart move.
-
Or a dumb move, depending on your views on assassination.
-
I think I will focus on all things MLK on Monday...

I just see four years of slip ups, stooging and senility.

I just saw four years of slip ups, stooging, and senility. Lol.
-
Certainly senility and frailty, in a sad way.
Trump however, loves acting the macho man, which like his hair, we can see through -
It's happening now. It's outside. Many people there from the looks of it. I wouldn't be surprised if the crowd was large. He did have a landslide win.

He did have a landslide win.
Just a few numbers...
DJT didn't quite get to 50% of the popular vote. Won by about 1.5%.
Biden, OTOH, got 51.5% of the vote and won by 4.5%.
It's happening now. It's outside.
He's supposed to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington today. Is that what you're referring to? edit: Or it could be the rally at the arena.
What time does Trump officially become president on Inauguration Day?
The 20th Amendment gets even more specific than outlining the date on which power transfers from one president to another. In fact, it even dictates the transition down to the minute.
According to the amendment, which is available to read in full on the National Archives website, the president-elect officially becomes the sitting president at the stroke of noon on Jan. 20. This is true regardless of if the president has taken the presidential oath of office or not.
Generally speaking, the day is meticulously planned to ensure the oath has been taken by or as close as possible to 12 p.m. ET.
The inauguration is tomorrow. He can change the location, but not the date.
