I'm on a slipper kick...check out these felted birkenslippers. 馃檪

I'd like to try out the Happy Sheep yarn that's used in those pink felted slippers I posted earlier. Of course I'm drawn to the variegated full price colors.

But before I place an order, I'll go down to the basement and refresh my memory regarding how big my stash is already...馃槉

@wtg Just remember that you want wool, non-superwash wool, if you want your project to felt!

Thanks, @AdagioM . Happy Sheep has regular wool and also superwash varieties. The page with the free slipper pattern directs you to the (regular) wool that was used to make the slippers.

I'm trying to hold back but I'm sooooo tempted....

I had ignored this thread until now. There's some very impressive needlework in here.

I must say, though, that I am frightened by the slippers. They could be very easy to fall in on hard surfaces such as wood or tile floors. I remember a fall I took years ago when I went into the kitchen in my stocking feet. I was leaning with my back to the counter when my feet started to slide and there was no stopping them. I slowly slid down until I landed seated on the floor. I imagine at my age now I might have slid quickly and possibly gotten a significant injury.

@Big_Al Yes, the slippers I made are a bit slippery. But there's a solution for that! I found this product on the website with the felted slippers. The product comes in black and in white.

@wtg I have also read that puffy paint works well, too!

(Or maybe this comment should be on the other thread.)

I bought some inexpensive wool (Lion Brand Fisherman's) and crocheted up one of the slippers for felting (pattern above). I ended up ripping it all apart (that's frogging, right?) before sewing it together and felting it. There was just something that didn't look right with the slipper, and I decided that my first felting experiment should be a non-clothing item where size doesn't matter as much. 馃榾

Switching gears and looking for another project...these look intriguing....and no felting required...I think I have some Softee Chunky in my stash...

Don't recall whether I've already shared a link to Fiber Spider's YT channel. I love his tutorials. Easy to follow and he makes some neat stuff. Plus he has so much fun doing this...
