Mary Anna, as our resident Agatha Christie expert, do you have any opinion on the most likely explanation?

@Big_Al I'd love to read the article but have hit a paywall and can't find a non-paywall version. Is there a gift link you can post?

I can’t get past the popup asking me to sign in/subscribe. My iPad isn’t giving me the option for Reader View

Historian Lucy Worsley presented a three part BBC series on Agatha's life earlier this year.
Part 2 was all about the disappearance.

As I recall she'd had enough of hubby's affair and, at a marriage crisis point, needed to get away (not really a mental breakdown).
With her mischievous intelligence she dumped her car then purposely vanished by train to Harrogate, misleading everybody on purpose.
Timing caused her husband & lover grief, while publicity did no harm to her.

@AndyD That series aired in the US on PBS. I enjoyed watching it.

As I recall @Mary-Anna 's co-author of their Christie book appears in the Worsley series.

And....I went back and looked at their Bloomsbury Christie book and see it is now available in paperback and e-book!

            Way to go, @Mary-Anna !

              I love watching Lucy Worsley.

I've always been intrigued by the disappearance of Agatha Christie.

My favorite historian is David Starkey.

This is what he calls himself.

It seems his full name would something like Sir David Starkey, CBE.

He's a knight unless he gave his knighthood back and I missed it.

He's an example of finest scholar Cambridge used to produce and might in the future (you can only hope).

He's 79 and still working. May he have many more productive years.
