Great story!!
Mequon used to be one of our stops on our trips to Door County. There's a Panera a block from the road we used to take. We'd stop to use the bathroom and to get a bite to eat. I was not aware there is a nature sanctuary somewhere around the town, but I'm not surprised.
Gardener's note: Tilia is the name of the genus that includes lindens and basswoods!
