I've mentioned the farmer who runs the CSA that we have been shareholders in for the last several years. He's closing down.

Angelic Organics Farm, Popular CSA Serving Chicago, Suddenly Closes After Farmer’s Stroke

John “Farmer John” Peterson’s community-based farm in Caledonia will have its final harvest this summer after 34 years — much to the dismay of his customers, the majority of whom are in the Chicago area.

Some unhappy shareholders who spent hundreds of dollars expecting a regular harvest this season have expressed frustration at the sudden closure and have even considered potential legal action, according to Rockford news station 23 WIFR.

I understand that people are really disappointed that they'll get no money back. But the shareholder agreement states that you share in the risk of the farm, and that nothing is guaranteed.

It's been a bad year for Angelic Organics. The wife of one of the farm workers was murdered in Mexico by a relative. Two of his three daughters witnessed their mother being killed. There was a GoFundMe (now closed) for Jesus and family.

          How awful.

A few hundred dollars pales in comparison.
