Yeah, kind of overly specific and overly vague for a thread title.

I'd like to post songs I'm listening to occasionally, and not clutter up the board.

Conversations, comments, and contributions very welcome!

Well, tonight I'm listening to a song in a rare genre for me- deep house- trance.

I've been listening to this song almost every day for a good month.

See: the Audi R8, naturally aspirated, rear engine V-10. None of the German "Big 3" is building anything remotely as good now.

This song is not the best TBH but it's good.

I like it a lot, especially the lyrics.

I've heard this type of music in NYC, and some of it was unreal.

I like it! I go way back to the very beginning of electronic music and have several albums of bands like Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, etc.

Have you heard Steven Wilson's "The Future Bites" album? You might enjoy it.

        I have now!

        I enjoyed this!

        "... love is hell".

        It can be for sure.

Electronic music won the race imho.

For instance, Madonna from when she was what they called a "beautiful nobody" working at Studio 54 until today has buried the saying- "Disco is dead" six feet underground.

Electronic music is pop music today imho.

I was never a dancer but for some reason I like some EDM. I usually steer clear of overly repetitive beats but there is something about deep bass tones that just resonates (pun not intended) with me. Especially some of the really fat sounding analog synth sounds that are so prevalent in such music. I like to feel those really low, inaudible bass tones.

It's a primal thing with us, I think. Dancing around the campfire, roasting a mammoth and beating on logs. Paleo rave.

              @mark I was never a dancer either. Just wasn't. I don't know why.

Dance was the foundation of Madonna's work in music videos and concerts (and I guess still is but she's got a lot of injuries).

She went to Martha Graham's school. Martha Graham named her Madame X.

Hence, Madame X, her last great album.

I wish I could sing! Not pop music. Classical music and church music.

@mark You might enjoy this song.

I listen to it again and again.

Madonna's confessions on a Dance Floor is generally considered to be the best album in Madonna's discography.

Let It WIll Be is one the best songs on the album imho.

It didn't get a video. I think that's too bad. It should have is the consensus.

                Link to video

The best song on the album (and the best video) is Hung Up imho.

Madonna bought the IP from ABBA for it.

She "made it her own" as they say on talent shows. Lol.

                Link to video

                Hung Up has a "B-side".

                Sorry-

                Link to video

Some videos apparently cost such a large amount of money that they produce a 2nd song and video using the same cast and film and set. I've noticed this pattern with her work. Other artiste do the same thing.

Her most recent album- Confessions II is her 15th studio album.

I'd like to listen to it but it's low on my low priority list.

Nothing compares to Madame X, her 14th studio album along with her 1st- 13th studio albums imho.

Well, that's life. Nobody can stay at the top of their game forever.

I think she's doing fine. I totally disagree with people who say she's too old and should retire.

These are the same people who never understood her career, who never stopped hating her for being being a woman who expresses her sexuality in public, who aren't comfortable with sex as a theme in art (I'm rolling my eyes), and who aren't comfortable with the fact that women age.

                Basta!

                Enjoy!
