Hey WhatsApp users

WhatsApp noob here trying to understand how this pup works...I've used Facetime, though not a lot, so not sure what the underlying architectures are of these apps.

I am setting up WhatsApp so we can video call with Mr wtg's friend in Ireland. I installed the app on my Windows laptop and on my Android phone, so I'm connected to a WhatsApp account. I have successfully sent and received chats.

When you have multiple devices associated with an account, will every device get a notification when there is an incoming call? And can I just pick up the call on my device of choice?

that has been my experience. When I get a WhatsApp from one of my kids, I get a notification on both my iPad and my Samsung phone and can answer from either.

i’ve only done audio calls.

my kids tell me that video calling is also easy on WhatsApp, but I hate video calling in general so I avoid it.

I use it constantly. Mayla barely knows her iMessage app exists. Audio and video too.

Our family also use it constantly, both for video and for sending messages(for non-time-sensitive things).
Rarely for audio only, we're very english and so always dressed appropriately to take a call .

At Christmas we use a TV plug in wide angle thingy and contact(invite) a number of households worldwide.
You get 4 households on a split screen with all/extended family members on & around their sofas... and conversations become chaotic fast .
Up to four individuals or couples & works well.
