There were a host of false things that Donald Trump said during his hour-long news conference Thursday that have gotten attention.

A glaring example is his helicopter emergency landing story, which has not stood up to scrutiny.

But there was so much more. A team of NPR reporters and editors reviewed the transcript of his news conference and found at least 162 misstatements, exaggerations and outright lies in 64 minutes. That’s more than two a minute. It’s a stunning number for anyone – and even more problematic for a person running to lead the free world.

This, gentle readers, is what NPR is supposed to do, and I have to say they’ve done a very good job.

I may give them another chance.

@Steve-Miller yep. Hopefully we’ll see more of this. The media really needs to not give Trump a pass!

I don't usually read the Daily Mail, but this came up in my Google News feed yesterday after somebody on Twitter posted that the pic of Harris arriving in Detroit was photoshopped. People across the internet did extensive analysis that proved the picture was fake. Except it turns out there really were that many people at the airport...

The next theory to chase down is how many of the people were hired by the Harris campaign to be there...

My friends were at that rally and said it was mobbbed. They took their kids and had a blast!

The arena was completely full, despite Internet BS claiming otherwise. Lots of folks couldn’t get in and some had to be treated for heat stroke as they waited in line.

Report is that both Harris and Walz gave excellent speeches!

this seems so rude though.. Should we be making fun of someone for their sectional preference?.

So while I'm lapsing for a moment... What was up with Trump's slurred speech last night when he was talking to Musk? It wasn't exactly subtle, and I've never heard it before that I can recall. Ill-fitting dentures? Something else?

I haven’t listened (can’t stand to) but I’ve read it had to do with compression algorithm X was using. But then wouldn’t Elon’s speech sound the same?
