Bloomscrolling--what's in bloom where you are?

A lot of my plants died last winter because it was so cold for so long. The plants that survived, however, look better than they ever have.

Common thrift. I need more of these. They bloom all summer and appear to be indestructible.
The pot-o-herbs is doing very well. My first attempt at using that gray plant (what is it?) in flowerpot designs.
The view from my patio chair makes me very happy!

Yes! I've seen them in commercial plantings, like at shopping malls. They are very cool. I think they prefer a lot of sun, so I'm not sure if they would survive in my yard.

Pleased and happy to report that the Lilac buds made it through the freezing temps a few weeks ago. Standing on the deck last evening, I was bathed in fragrance. Very happy to have Lilac blossoms. (A mock orange to the left of it, very heady when it flowers.)
I will tell you what is not going to blossom: The giant Aliums, for the fourth or fifth year in a row!! They've had their chance, now they will be moved somewhere else in hopes that they've simply been unhappy with their location. I don't know why they won't blossom. They blossomed twice in seven years.
All the canes on all my roses succumbed to our harsh winter. Sigh. They are all putting out new growth at the base, though, so maybe they will pull through the set back.

Of four identical bushes, one died completely, one died mostly and I think it’s putting out shoots from the rootstock. Two others recovered nicely and they’re growing at a furious pace.
Go figure.

I have three rose bushes that are of the own root variety, no grafting. All three of them took a big hit this past winter. Two started sending out new shoots pretty early in spring but the third looked like it was toast; I almost dug it up. Lo and behold, probably three weeks later, I saw what appeared to be tiny buds. It hasn't caught up to the others but it is definitely still alive!

My peony is blooming. It was just about to pop last Saturday when I left for Phoenix. When I got home on Thursday, they were already looking a little ragged.
But individually they are spectacular.
I’ve cut a few that were lying low (they’re so heavy when they bloom, they want to lie down), and put them in a vase on the front porch table.

Beautiful Irises, Andy. I don't have many here, so when they blossom I totally enjoy them.
I have been mowing around this Marguerite Daisy. There were several when I moved here, but all on the lawn areas so mostly, they disappeared. But I've decided to see if I can get them to come back. Maybe I'll transplant them out of the lawn into the garden.

Out for a walk around a local Wildlife Trust area with ponds and river and there were loads of ox eye daisy, flocks and campion.

The linden trees are blooming here. My best friend's birthday is June 22 and the lindens are always in bloom for her birthday. The lovely scent (especially strong in the evening) always remind me of her. We had a birthday dinner for her with her family when she turned 40 at a restaurant that was near a grove of lindens. The scent takes me back to a wonderful celebration.

Thought I was flying to Scandinavia yesterday. Bob is having too much trouble with Parkinson's so we cancelled.
May plant something instead. -

Mr. AM just launched a Parkinson’s support group yesterday, a joint venture with the local community center and Parkinson’s Resources of Oregon. 24 people showed up. We were pleasantly surprised; we expected maybe 6.
It’s a long road, and we’re on it.
Now I’m headed outside to water, water, water. I don’t trust our 100 year old house’s plumbing enough to leave water faucets on with timers!

The hydrangeas have begun blooming
It’s been very warm here, and I was away for the weekend, so there’s a little bit of crispiness on some of these.
I love these. This plant was a from a 1 gallon bucket 20 years ago. It’s huge now.
Not a bloom, but past bloom! The blueberries are in high season. We planted 3 bushes about 25 years ago; one of those remains. I added one more, but it ripens a little later, so most of these are from the original bush. I’ve picked 3 gallons so far.
The raspberries are from plants the kids gave me about 10 years ago. Raspberry shortcake: short plants, thornless. (edited; I said stemless but that’s for wine glasses!)
Food people: here’s a recipe for avocado blueberry quinoa salad; we had that for dinner last night.

Japanese balloon flowers. Twice as tall this year as they were last year.
It simply dwarfs what was meant, at least in my mind, to be a prominent centrepiece 3' monolith amongst alpines.
