LaGuardia after Spirit

The abrupt shutdown of Spirit Airlines over the weekend has turned an entire terminal at LaGuardia Airport into a ghost town.
Just last Friday, the airport’s tiny but mighty Marine Air Terminal was abuzz with Spirit Airlines passengers. The low-cost airline held the lease at all six of the gates at the landmarked terminal, which dates back to 1940 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
But on Tuesday, the terminal's entrance were covered in "no entry" signs and hastily printed posters directing Spirit ticketholders to call other airlines.

Forgot about that place. I used to take the delta shuttle from that terminal to DCA or BOS quite often. It was great. Almost exclusively business travelers who knew what they were doing. Security lines were fast AF.
I kind of thought it had been demolished. But it also explains why I don’t recalll seeing spirit airlines at LGA. They were isolated in their own terminal a cab ride away.

The Spirit shutdown has left a small regional airport in my area - Arnold Palmer Airport in Latrobe, PA - entirely without commercial air service as Spirit was the only airline flying out of there. They still will be serving private and charter aviation as well as a flight school but are urgently seeking another carrier who might fly from there. At one time, they were a USAir regional destination.
