I managed to resist. But I am tempted. Very tempted.

We used to buy lion's mane mushrooms from a mycologist who set up shop in Door County many years ago. Delish!!

Indeed. Lion's Mane are pretty common around the farmers markets these days. I'm holding out for morels, largely because I am incredibly inept at finding them in the woods.

Or you can come to my neighborhood. We have one neighbor who gets morels in his front yard, though not every year. I posted pics a few years ago of a bumper crop that came up. @mark 's daughter was about ready to come here and pick them!

We used to have a secret patch a couple blocks away, but someone didn't leave the bases so they are played out. I've found a few in the median in front of our house, but only about 3 in 33 years.

My daughter gave me a couple boxes of North Spore mushrooms, can't remember which variety. They grew beautifully! You can also get them in a log form with spores embedded in the log, and then grow outdoors...a larger quantity.
