A great week!

Entertained friends from Tucson all week. So much fun! You might remember that Ron and I have been friends since 1966. We never ran out of things to talk about. The weather cooperated - our friends came dressed for Snowpocalypse but temps averaged low 70’s all week.
We visited Amish Country, saw a locally produced musical, toured the highlights of downtown Cleveland (yes, they exist), visited Kelley’s Island and bounced around on a golf cart all day. Introduced our guests to Ohio tavern culture and they liked it just fine. Walleye! Tots! Pierogis!
We ate like Infantry! Their habits are much different than ours. We almost never snack, they snack all day. They drink astonishing quantities of Diet Dr. Pepper and iced tea throughout the day. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Made several loaves of sourdough and then sent them home with some starter. Chris loves to bake and having recently been diagnosed with Celiac she’s looking forward to trying some GF recipes. I may try a few myself.
Taken in front of the Amish theater. They’re big on mums out there:

Cleveland sign, one of several as it turns out.

Chris was n her natural habitat. She did two 1000 piece puzzles over the course of the week. She just can’t sit still - swept the garage, tidied up constantly, cooked all kinds of things. She’d have washed the carbon I had let her.

Ron is the opposite. Perfectly content to sit and talk or read. He’s a retired engineer and interested in everything.

Farmers Market. We hit several:

Also made an offer on this house. It’s down the street from our current house. Wildly overpriced but definite potential.
Our 20% underbid did not impress and it went to someone else. Probably just as well - I’m getting too old to take on such a project.

Sounds wonderful! And great pics!

That kind of thing is always interesting, and those kinds of habits sort of define one's day. For example, I pretty much always eat breakfast immediately upon rising, whereas my mother (and most of my other family members) never do that. When we travel together or when I used to stay at her house (before she moved into my neighborhood) I always felt like I was causing her trouble. At holidays, she would want to make breakfast for everyone, but by the time she would get around to it, I would have perished from starvation.
BTW random question. This kind of stone, is it hard to keep weeds from growing through it?

There aren’t usually very many and I just spray them.

Glad you had a great time. Probably good that you did not get that house.
There were four townhouses for sale on Creek Lane, which is where I live.
Four were for sale. Have not seen that in the ninteen years I have lived here. One recently valued at over 950k sold for 800k. The others are staying firm on their prices. -

With what?
I used to use glyphosate, now I use Triclopyr or another brush killer.
