                  @AndyD What lovely photos!!

                  Re professional photographs, I’m sorry it’s taking so long, I’m sure that’s frustrating, esp for your daughter, who must want to see them very badly!

                                  I think traditionally the Tea Ceremony was when a chinese couple were accepted into the respective families and considered married.

                                  Here they'd been signed/married earlier in the morning with only two winesses present (for me the tea ceremony was nearest family only and a day before a full church do).

                                  They wanted everyone to be involved in the fun, including friends(!), so it became a rather long show where the 60 invitees drank bubbly and had nibbles watching and being called up by my younger daughter.

                                  So they served tea to more senior members and were served by junior members... words are exchanged.

                                  Tea was lychee (longan is traditional) signifying a sweet and long life.

                                  Ironically the three boyfriends of the daughters of MrsD's sister were the only ones who did not participate... not yet family and they thought it better not to in case it offended their future inlaws😄. Such is traditional Straits Chinese culture.

                                    The corsage(bouquet) was certainly a one-off, with Chinese lanterns, honesty, peonies, and the berries were actually taken from MrsD's 32yr old bouquet.
                                    Really lovely imo.

                                      The Penguin pool was entertaining site for formal vows, as the inhabitants flock together and swim like a shoal of fish in fighter formation, coming en masse directly at you.

                                      In fact the whole day was planned by them to entertain their guests. I'm still not sure if I was guest or host, it was such a mix of informal & formal.

                                      The velvet tang jackets we purchsed to complement our ladies in their chong sam.
                                      Added to the fun, especially when marrying someone half chinese.
                                      He got a rice cooker as a present from us😄.

                                      Somewhere we (or the family) have a full Chinese female marriage suit, vintage, sewn in red&gold silk and very heavy to wear. Would have been worn by her but is lost.

                                      The groom and his friends all came in bright red socks as a nod to the Chinese theme, which was amusing when you saw them seated together.
