I can't believe it's the same place. They did an awesome job with the renovations!

My mother painted the ceiling mural of the nightime sky in my bedroom on page 17.

I'm going to download these pictures.

They accepted an offer of 400k.

It was was on the market for only a month.

    Wow.

Very nice! Preserved over the years, too! Has it gone through many different homeowners during that time?

SK, yes! I didn't know if if it was still there.

Ax, thanks! My father built the house in 1973 and lived there until he passed last October so this is the first time it was on the market.

BTW, you can't tell by looking but it's the night sky based on a specific date. The stars do or did glow in the dark. My mother was an artist. I'm glad it's still there.

That's a neat feature. I hope you save a picture of it. Do you recall what the date was?

No, I don't. My mother told me but I must have been 6 and don't remember.

I asked a couple times over the years of it was still there.

This hardly looks like the same house even though of course I recognize all of it.

I wonder how much the estate had to spend but it's just a fact of life.

I have all my legal documents printed. All I have to is execute them.

I imagine the estate will settle within 2 months. I don't see why not.

The fact it sold in 1 month puts me ahead about 5 months.

My current living situation is untenable so this is good news!

Wow. The estate paid only 16k. My brother paid the rest. He is so bent out of shape that he hasn't blocked me but he's not answering my texts. Please send me your new contact information. Nothing. He is know to block people so I guess I exist in his pergatory. Silly, transparent boy. His loss!

And, Big Al, I'm downloading all of these pictures. It's great to see the house looking like this. It will be nice to be able to remember it this way.

Very nice! I didn't know you grew up over near Poughkeepsie.

                      The industrial revolution cheapened everything.

Just noticed the bright blue countertop in the kitchen. Rad!

Bernard, Thanks! From 2- 14. Used to be taken and by 11 go myself on the Poughkeepsie and Pawling Metro North trains to the City and airports. New York had big hold on my imagination and does today. Upstate was a very nice place to grow up.

BTW, the tile in the kitchen and entry is about 1/2" thick. It was installed by Italian craftsman. No particular reason other than there were/ are many Italians in NYS who specialize in tile.

Of course there are many Italians in Italy and around the word who specialize in this craft.

I can't believe what an amazing job my brother and cousin did with this renovation and in such a short time.

My father was a real hoarder like you see on TV and the basement was badly molded. The shop was full to the point you could barely move around it and was full from the floor to the ceiling. Iirc, there were four abandoned vehicles on the property.

The siding is redwood. You can't tell now but it is mid-century modern. In 1973 when the summer cottage on the site was demolished and the house was built the roof was completely flat. The sloping roofs you see now were a later addition.
