Wow! It sounds really wonderful and life changing. Clearly for the gentleman interviewed, it has been.

I remember when Neurolink was first announced, I was very skeptical bc of it being under Elon Musk.

I still have that skepticism (if anything it's stronger now). I don't think Musk is a trustworthy individual, and I don't believe he acts in ethical ways when the decisions are up to him. (For example, if he had his way, would he deny this technology to people based on details of their identities and politics? I'd love to know how many of those 80 participants are not white...)

But obviously the real work of Neurolink is not being done by Musk.

Whoever is behind it, hopefully this technology will continue to evolve and become more accessible, and effective, for the many people whose lives could be improved by it.

Listen to any interview of Peter Thiel (another "tech bro as is JD Vance, btw) and he will explicitly explain how he wants to basically turn people into robots. This is no conspiracy theory. It's straight from the horse's mouth. I assure you this is part of a truly creepy, authoritarian agenda, wtg, SK, and Ax. This is not being done for humanitarian reasons, and one curated anecdotal story does nothing to change the wider context. You might be skeptical of what I'm saying. See: various interviews or Peter Thiel. He spells out his agenda with the disposition of a man who is too drunk on his own perceived power to be capable or even interested in using any restraint in talking about his disturbing agenda.
