Cleveland won’t be losing the Browns to Brook Park without a fight. And Cleveland secured a recent win by moving in silence.

Via Cleveland.com’s Today in Ohio podcast, Cleveland laid the foundation for the recent decision of the Ohio Department of Transportation to deny the permit for a domed suburban stadium.

The city, working with airport officials, sent “warning letters” regarding the height of the stadium, arguing it would interfere with air traffic.

Unlike other efforts by the city to oppose the new stadium, Cleveland quietly pursued the attack on the height of the venue.

Good. Tired of private enterprises blackmailing municipalities.

Not just the municipality - you get to pay for it too!

Six. Hundred. Million. Taxpayer. Dollars. To a private enterprise.

We're waiting for that to happen here. The Bears/McCaskeys have focused their attention on the former Arlington Park site they own.

As for money ,so far Pritzker is holding firm and says he won't give them anything. But the county assessor, the Bears, and the local school districts finally came to an agreement regarding the value of the vacant land. It's a lot less than they paid for it.

LA managed to build their fabulously expensive stadium with all private money when the city said no. If Cleveland can’t do that then the project is not viable.

And then there is the question of paying off the old stadium…
