I knew the Trump-Musk bromance wouldn't last and indeed it's gone south. Bigly. And quickly.

President Donald Trump on Thursday hit back on Elon Musk following Musk's rampage against his domestic megabill, saying he's "very disappointed" in the Tesla billionaire.

"Look, Elon and I had a great relationship. I don't know if we will anymore," Trump said in the Oval Office.

Musk responded in kind to the personal comments in real time on X, where he swiped at the legislation and at Trump directly.

At one point, Musk responded to a user: "Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate."

"Such ingratitude," Musk added. Musk spent more than $270 million to back Trump and other Republicans during the 2024 election cycle.

President Donald Trump on Thursday called Tesla CEO Elon Musk “CRAZY” and threatened to cut his companies’ government contracts as the two men feuded over a major tax bill.

“Go ahead, make my day,” Musk promptly responded.

Steve Bannon, a close ally of President Trump, has called for Elon Musk to be deported.

“They should initiate a formal investigation of his immigration status because I am of the strong belief that he is an illegal alien, and he should be deported from the country immediately,” he said in a phone interview with The New York Times.

Bannon also called for the administration to investigate Musk’s alleged drug use. Musk has denied the reports that he took illicit drugs during last year’s campaign.

Bannon, a long-time critic of Musk, also said that Trump should cancel all government contracts with the billionaire’s companies.

Elon Musk has shared a post calling for President Trump to be impeached.

A user shared a post on X which suggested that Musk would “win” the row with Trump and recommended that “Trump should be impeached and JD Vance should replace him.”

Musk quoted the post and said: “Yes”.

          Let's deport both of them.

What a dignified spectacle. Heeheehee.

Tesla share plunges and looses 152bn over the feud. Mutual assured destruction? Musk say's Trump is in the Epstein files, Trump threatens Musk's government contracts.

Trump may currently have the power, but surely Musk only has to wait?

@AndyD - The interview with the former GOP strategist that I posted above is informative. Musk has money. And he owns Twitter. The GOP is nervous about what Musk could do to them in the short term.
