I just got back from seeing the movie “Thelma” in the the theater.- This makes like, two movies I’ve seen in the theater in about 10 years. I really liked it! Even though the topic, old age, has nothing to do with me, I found it incredibly relatable. I found myself identifying with the grandmother, the grandson, both parents and the elderly black friend. Amusing dialogue, great characters and a great escapist movie for a hot summer afternoon.

Thanks for the heads up! I looked up the movie and it does sound like a good one. Though we'll probably wait till it's available on streaming....

We plan to see it. I love the aged lady as protagonist.

if you go, I recommend watching through the end of the credits. Towards the end, there is a slightly odd but mildly amusing dialogue from the lead character from the front passenger seat of the car that didn’t seem to add much to the movie, but what the heck. Then, towards the end of the credit, you see the same scene, but it’s no longer the actress. It’s the real person the movie is based on is based on saying the same thing, - looked like a home movie shot well before the movie was made. I thought it was cute anyway.

The Band’s Visit. It was on TCM a few weeks ago, otherwise seems like it’s available to rent via a few different streaming services.
