Bloomscrolling--what's in bloom where you are?

Cicadas. Cicadas are in bloom here. Everywhere.
I rescued one from a fountain yesterday. They only get a week or so of life. It seemed cruel to let it drown.
I'm getting soft.

Not much yet, and not the best photos:

A bazillion dandelions and that pink flowered bush called a rose tree of China among other things.

Lilacs are just starting:
This tree, it smells heavenly, the leaves turn purple in the summer (it’s an ornamental chokecherry) and the purple flowering ground cover Lamium underneath it.
And this cart, that Steve just put together for me, to keep my back happy when pushing flowers in an out of the garage because we usually get a hard frost mid June.

This year is a major clean up and simplify year. Trying to reduce the amount of work required to maintain the yard. So you may see dug up plants, plants in pots, and lots of weeds in the pics.
Blooming....Various colors of columbine. They hybridize themselves and make new colors. And they volunteer all over the place, including between the bricks on the patio. I often leave them because I love their spontaneity! Plus I'm a terrible garden designer and the plants do it much better on their own.
Also Japanese anemone, living up to their windflower name this morning. And European ginger is blooming, though unless you kneel down on the ground and peer upward in the plant, you'll totally miss the nondescript brown flowers that they get.

Lovely pics, one and all. I'm envious of your Lilacs, AndyD. We had white and purple ones when I was growing up. My lilac bush is bust this year; I'm lucky if there's a dozen flower heads on it. Oh, well, next year.
The purple rhododendron was a spectacle this year, as usual--except for years when a late frost hits just as it is opening. This bush is huge, taller than I am and very wide.
This rhododendron I planted a few years ago is starting to come into its own. I'm hoping it will eventually equal the purple one in stature.
The crabapple I planted as barely a sprig 11 years ago is opening its blossoms now. We're just coming out of multiple days of rain and cold, and I think it's supposed to warm up this week, so it should be a nice display in a few days.
The usual wild flowers are out. Trillium, Jack-in-the-pulpit, violets, dandelions, ground ivy, wild phlox, forget-me-not, and others. Most of the color to be seen right now is low to the ground.

You can store photos on postimages.org, click on the Share button, copy the Direct Link, and post it here. I don't even have a postimages account; I just use it as a quasi-throwaway place to store pics. If you do want to set up an account, it's free. Some folks use Flickr for image storage, too.
@wtg I just re-upped my photobucket account just for the purpose of posting here, so I don't know why it isn't working. I followed exactly your procedure except at photobucket. My Flickr account is maxed at > 1000 images and I was hoping not to have to pay the pro level subscription fee. Thanks for the suggestion of post images. I'll figure it out eventually.

@rustyfingers, I was perplexed when I first got here about how to upload images directly to this forum. It's not immediately obvious.
When you click on 'reply' to someone's post, you may get a mini version of the input editor. At the bottom of the input box is the "Quick reply" button. Immediately to the left of it is a diagonal double arrow icon. If you click that you'll get the full editor. On the full editor toolbar, the next-to-last icon on the right is the upload image tool.
If you're already in the full editor, just click the upload image icon (second to last on the right).

@rustyfingers Yea, you want the Image Link box in the full edit screen, fifth icon from the right. If you hover over the icons a text description of the icon will appear. But you've probably already figured that out....

I spend too much time doomscrolling. So let's spend some time bloomscrolling!
I missed spring in my garden last year because I spent 6 weeks in the Pacific Northwet --(c) pianojuggler-- closing up my stepmothers' estate.
So I'm super enthusiastic when something blooms this year.
Today's spotlight--rhododendron. Thus came with the house and it was just a stem 8 years ago. It has filled out.

Mazas reptans “creeping blue”.
It didn’t do much last year - just kind of sat there. Died to the ground over winter but this Spring it really took off!

Haven't seen it before, at least not that I can recall. The Spruce says it can be a replacement for turf grass, which may solve a problem for me in my side yard.
One thing I noticed:
Creeping mazus spreads naturally as its roaming stems root themselves in soil.
Creeping mazus spreads so quickly that it's generally planted via nursery seedling flats, with plants spaced 8 to 12 inches apart and then allowed to fill in to create a carpet of greenery.
