There's a really nice place called Hey Nonny in "downtown" Arlington Heights that hosts some pretty good music. https://www.heynonny.com/ Our former neighbor is a member of a jazz octet that performed there a ways back. He plays bass sax, bass clarinet, and, you'll love this @Rontuner , bassoon! https://www.metropolitanjazzoctet.com/copy-of-our-team I think when they were at Hey Nonny it was with a singer named Dee Alexander. Anybody heard of Wyatt and Ash washable rugs? Saw them pop up on Costco’s website and they seemed like they were like Ruggables. Except I think they're quite a bit cheaper..at least on Costco. Turns out they are one piece, with a non-skid backing. Of course their online marketing material talks about how much better they are than two piece washable rugs... https://www.wyattandashhome.com/

Mine too. Lol. I narrowed it down to #2 and #3. I chose #2 because it seemed minimalist to me in a traditional sense, I liked the land (talk about privacy), and I liked the out buildings, including their arrangement on the property.

@wtg I miss several varieties of fruits and vegetables I ate when I was younger - Midway strawberries, Iochief sweet corn, and Sodus raspberries come immediately to mind. I still find some of my other favorites at some markets - like Rome Beauty apples. There was a Rome Beauty tree growing on the path between the house and barn on the farm where I grew up and, when they were in season, I'd pick one to eat every time I passed the tree. Big Al

Agreed, Daniel. She was singled out. Apparently she is not pleased with the mockumentary. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/10/30/movies/martha-stewart-netflix-documentary.html

https://www.texastribune.org/2024/10/28/texas-shars-medicaid-special-education/ I'm glad I was in born back in the last century because the world seems to be headed in a dystopian direction. There's a line in a Madonna song (the best selling female artist of all time-- don't knock it)-- 'Its a cruel injustice to be witness to the things I see." I've witnessed a lot of events (we all have) I could have lived without and wish I could reasonably say I don't things will get worse. I know these aren't the prosperous times of the mid-century but watching this country's downhill slide and thinking about events that might come here and abroad requires more fortitude than I ever imagined.

Got to Tucson yesterday. The drive though southern Colorado and New Mexico had a lot of bright autumn colors make the drive a delight. Saw 4 carriages drawn by dark bays. One Bay was a high stepper. Saw a man and two boys. From their clothing I assumed they are Amish. Now I know what the wide shoulder lanes are for.

When I was very young I was very fascinated by the Leakey's research in Africa. My fundamentalist Mom found the books I was reading. Her reaction was rather uh.... astounding. That was the end of that.
