The Trump administration is expanding its campaign against international students to target not just those active in pro-Palestine advocacy, but also students entirely uninvolved in protests and campus activism. With little or no justification, the Trump administration is revoking the visas and immigration statuses of hundreds of international students under the Student Exchange and Visitor Program, leaving them vulnerable to detention and deportation, according to attorneys representing international scholars who have filed new lawsuits against the Trump administration. In some cases, the government has gone after students with minor infractions or misdemeanors on their record, or, for others, no criminal history at all. Several immigration attorneys have also told The Intercept that the bulk of their clients are from Muslim-majority countries or other countries in Asia and Africa. And new lawsuits filed in California also allege the government’s deportation attempts appear to be targeting students who are “African, Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim, and Asian. It will take days for immigration attorneys to sift through the waves of new cases. In late March, Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed media reports that at least 300 visas had been revoked in its “Catch and Revoke” program, and said that number would rise daily. Immigration attorneys who spoke with The Intercept on Monday estimate the number of student visa revocations may have risen into the thousands in recent days. @wtg said in Health insurance claim denials: Public shaming works – but it’s also a sign of how broken the appeals process is in the US health insurance industry Yep. It’s so frustrating that this is our reality. And it’s only going to get worse

It’s not cruel if it pays for tax cuts for billionaires. It’s a zero sum game.

The Snowbirds Speaking of migrations (off topic) the Canadians and Americans here in the 401 unit mobile home park where I live and where about 1/3 of the residents are Canadian citizens who live here only in the winter are not getting along with the Americans. Strangely or not, they never have been friendly with each other. The old timers say the Canadians think of themselves as superior because they are on vacation when they are in residence and the Americans live here full time and generally don't have much use for the vacationers. This is a red area in a red state. I've met some people who follow Trump even though they actually don't know much at all or anything about Trump's trade wars. There are two flag polls at the main entrance. One USA and one Canada. They lowered the Canadian flag to below the USA flag that's at the top of its flagpole. I have to say growing up in a military family this is probably better protocol. There's an growing sentiment to remove the Canadian flag and replace it with Florida flag in the same position. Again, I have to reluctantly agre that the Canadian flag shouldn't be there, just because it shouldn't, let alone it's being used as a marketing ploy. I will note mobile homes have bad reputation, my favorite one here by far is a double wide minimalist masterpiece, though. It's on a corner lot with the long side being set far back from the road. There's more grass between it and the road than any of the other homes in the street. Everything is in perfect condition. Full window metal exterior storm shutters cover every window. I don't doubt that it's insulated for efficiency and complete noise insulation. It's owned by a Canadian. It's being sold. A number of Canadians are selling. I haven't looked at the price but 150k wouldn't surprise me. I'd move there if I could do it. Then I'd sue housemate for partition taking half the value of my mobile home and forcing him to move out of the park. Living alone would be my idea if heaven on earth. I had to put him in his place yesterday because he went a step too far. I did it without mercy or regret. I didn't hear a peep from him for the rest of the day or night and he left before I woke up. I haven't seen him today. I wouldn't mind not seeing him again. If you got this far, thanks for reading.

Good article. It’s always been tough to make any $ on houses. It’s the big reason we stuck to commercial work.
