What do you think this bush is?

Here are some photos of the flowering bush in our backyard at the new place. When we bought the house, the bushes were much more rounded on top, so I’m guessing they had been trimmed. Which means maybe we should trim them? But first we need to ID them! The first photo is to give you an idea of their size (i.e. almost as big as our neighbor’s shed!)

Ok I think it’s a sweet shrub, also called an allspice bush (but not actual allspice). It says we can trim it, but probably not until late fall at this point. Apparently they get quite large, so these bushes must be pretty mature.
