There have been a number of these cases of photos taken by an unknown photographer in Nazi-occupied France. Here's one where the photographer was finally identified....

That's an inspiring story. The Resistance fighters were very often the bravest of the brave. To quote a line from America, the Beautiful, "O beautiful for heroes proved In liberating strife, Who more than self their country loved And mercy more than life!"
