LA House @ $195,00,000

Link to videoWhat do you think of this?
My opinion-- This isn't (or probably shouldn't be) residential architecture.
I would feel like I was living in a museum, or a library, or a tomb complex.
I'd move here if it were given to me and I could afford it but somewhat reluctantly and more for the privacy than the luxury.
I can't imagine how much money a person would need to be worth to afford to own this house. I'm thinking even though it's a wild guess the fiqure would need to be in the 100's of millions.
I don't know anything about the building of this house but I've read many stories about people building houses like this one in LA while ignoring all the legalities while they do it. I don't remember reading about a case where they didn't get away with it. I'm not saying there isn't one but if there is I missed it.

Not for me on multiple fronts. Seems so cold and without any spirit; I would feel like I'm living in some corporation's offices. Or, as you said, a tomb.
And the gardener in me cringes to see how the landscapers massacred those poor trees along the driveway.
Plus I find that as I get older, I want less space, not more.
So a resounding "no", even if I could afford it.

Ugh. I love modern. This is just sterile.

All the charm of an airplane hangar.

Tough crowd.

LOL and spot on.

I want an actual Georgian country house in England.
The architecture and gardens have a mesmerizing effect.
That's my "dream house" and they don't cost anything approaching $195,000,000.
Edited to add-- I've seen new built luxury N.Y.C. apartments I could be happy living in for the rest of my life. I like the floorplans, the views, and the "surfaces" (lol). A 2 bedroom or even a 1 bedroom would be my other idea of heaven on earth.

Daniel, I'm also drawn to Georgian gentlemanly properties; here are three, choose one?
