Recent one popped up in Europe and the UK, with scammers pasting their QR code over a legitimate one on parking meters. Your payment goes to the scammer.

There are other versions of QR code scams, like the one included in a package that you aren't expecting. You're supposed to scan the enclosed QR code to find out who sent you the package. Oops...

Me? I never scan them.... 😁

It's a jungle out there. The emergence of QR codes to access menus in restaurants during the pandemic left me out because I didn't have a smart phone. Now, I'm simply afraid to use them.

This is one I’ve never thought about.

        Good grief.

There is no end to it. I disliked them so much I only started using them recently. Now...

Use a QR code scanner that can tell you exactly what's encoded in a QR code, examine the link before you click.

For iOS, use something like this: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/qr-pro-easy-qr-code-scanner/id1013912824
