Great story.
Around here we have people planting butterfly gardens with milkweed to give the monarchs a place to feed. Apparently not all milkweed is created equal.

we’ve got our eyes on a very special treat for this week only, thanks to Doug at Garden Gate. pawpaws are often called the tropical fruit of North America and taste like a cross between mango and banana, with a hint of tangy passion fruit.

I would love to try a pawpaw, but I’ve never seen one on the Left Coast.

Just heard an NPR piece on pawpaws. There are festivals in Ohio, but the reason they are not more widespread is they do not hold well.
