    That’s what the boy is making as a lifeguard at the town pool this summer.

    Part time.

    Hell, I made around $4 per hour at his age. Even with inflation that’s maybe $12.

    After his first shift I asked him if he got bored just sitting there for an 8 hour shift. He said ‘not really, there’s always some kid doing something stupid’.

          I worked as a lifeguard in about 1975-1977. I made $2.50 an hour which would be about 15 bucks today.

          I got the job because of my brilliant swimming skills and stunning physique,
          Certainly not because my college basketball coach ran the summer swimming program at the pool..
