    @steve-miller and @big_al mights be interested…

    It’s the moment many locomotive fans have been waiting for: the Eastern leg of the historic, 1.2 million-pound Big Boy No. 4014 locomotive’s nationwide tour has been announced.

    The 133-foot-long locomotive, the only Big Boy to still travel the tracks, has made multiple well-attended tours since returning to service in 2019. No. 4014 is one of just a handful of remaining Big Boy engines that were built to haul heavy equipment during World War II..

      What a handsome machine. I'd love to see it leave a station with the theme tune from Murder on the Orient Express playing

      Ventosa viri restabit

            As part of the tour, the nonprofit Union Pacific Museum will be selling tickets for rides in vintage passenger cars pulled by Big Boy through the Poconos Mountains in Pennsylvania on June 14 as a fundraiser. Interested riders can purchase tickets from the Museum at www.UPtrainTix.org. This will be the ONLY passenger excursion opportunity on this tour.

                Maybe my grandson would like to see it too!

                Thanks!
