The Indomitable Covid Virus

Well that’s good… I just thought it sounded like a mild allergic reaction. I might be a little paranoid about that kind of thing though…

COVID arm. It was one of the side effects that was observed early on. I think it was more common with Moderna. @Amanda had it, as I recall.

I had the Moderna vax the first two times (remember 2020?). I had swollen underarm lymph nodes on that side, which made one boob temporarily bigger. This was a common reaction, and you’re supposed to wait six weeks (?) before getting a mammogram so it doesn’t read false positive.
Both Mr. AM and I went to CVS pharmacies for our most recent vax; his had Pfizer and mine had Moderna. They didn’t tell us beforehand which one they had. We scheduled online.

I've gotten every covid vax and booster since they came... IIRC the first several ones were Moderna, then a Pfizer, and then this most recent one was Moderna again. I think...
The only kinds of reactions I've had have been arm soreness and flu-like symptoms (which a few times were really, really bad) but I've never had the covid arm or those other symptoms.

Nothing official, but it appears to me that the Pfizer jabs cause fewer adverse reactions than other brands

Got the Pfizer vacc September 3. Four hour flight Monday. Sick with something at 4 am this Wednesday morning. Also fatigue and some nausea.
-
Whatever it is, I hope it's mild and goes away soon.
-
Feel better soon, Chas.
-
@CHAS hope you're better soon!!

Next time I’m going to see if I can get Pfizer instead of Moderna. I had a better time with it before.

Do you still mask for travel? We masked going to Nashville last week, but not coming home.
Hope you’re feeling better!

@Mik Get well soon.
I don't get the mRNA vaccinations.
I did finally get my first in a series of three Hepatitis A/B vaccinations. They're on a schedule of 0, 1, and 6 months. I'd be done now if I hadn't procrastinated.
I still wear masks. My supply was dwindling. RM brought his mother's car here the other day (before he totaled it). I found a new box of masks in the trunk. I took about 1/3 of them.
Thanks, Daniel. We've been well now for quite a while. It was really only two days of being stay in bed sick. The rest was just a little run down and congested. Still have some lingering congestion, but I normally have some anyway. Come from living in the Ohio Valley.

I do!
Today, I ran into a colleague who was out of breath and panting so badly, I suggested that I call 911 (it's hard to explain, he was in really bad shape). He shook his head and held up a finger for me to wait. I guided him to a chair, he sat down. I sat with him. After a little bit, still out of breath, he was able to talk.
He said that's been happening to him regularly since he had covid over the summer. He's like in his 40s.
I'm continuing to mask. (in general, not just when traveling)
For the record, I hate it.

I forgot about the mammogram thing, AM. I don't know that I noticed a difference in size, but there was a definite cystic lumpiness on that side for months that was fairly terrifying for someone whose mother died of breast cancer.
I don't think my mammogram is due until spring. I need to check my calendar, but I don't want to delay the vaccination. I'll probably get it this weekend.
-
I wouldn't call myself at severe risk of RSV, but I get fairly awful bronchitis whenever I get any kind of respiratory infection, so I wanted the vaccine. I can affirm that CVS does not ask you any questions. If you ask for the RSV vaccine, they'll give it to you, because that's what I did.
-
Re rsv, so they don’t really check your age?
-
Re mammogram, I just had a little more than 2 weeks after my Covid vax. I can’t remember if I was asked it the vax, although maybe it’s in my chart? Anyway, the mammogram was normal, so I assume there wasn’t any impact from the vax, fortunately.

Free COVID test kits will be available in September.
Site is up. I ordered our tests this morning.

I ordered ours the other day too.
