Not exactly. More like certain forms of dissent have been out lawed. Same here as I will prove.

I grew up in a military family two miles from an Air Force base.

Take out the runways. Take out the tower. What have you.

Don't forget military bases aren't countries. They are very small in terms of land area.

Americans have been fleeing to hotels from military bases for some time.

          The commies are winning ...

          https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/13/business/energy-environment/china-energy-battery-grid.html?unlocked_article_code=1.alA.rW-a.Z3d9kgOfzttP

Now the war with Iran has laid bare the risks of reliance on Middle Eastern oil and gas. Countries are realizing that all paths to renewable power run through China and its exporters.

Even if a cease-fire between the United States and Iran helps ease disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, the shock has already grabbed the attention of governments worldwide. Faced with energy shortages, they are accelerating efforts to upgrade their power grids, bringing them to the doorstep of Chinese companies eager to supply them.

I'll get the cite for you, jon.

No problem. It was some Bizzaro legislation but it happened.

Apologize for the delay. Very busy, high stress in my house. I'll focus on it.

The U.S. said it used Apache helicopters to sink Iranian speedboats harassing traffic in the strait. Iran hit a critical oil port in the United Arab Emirates and several vessels around the strategic waterway.

Iran controls the strait. The conceit the US is policing it would probably be entertaining if it weren't abjectly pathetic.

Under international law the Strait of Hormuz is a free shipping lane, just as the English Channel is, open to all nations.

Iran controls nothing of those waters and ought never to be allowed to.

If they continue to act as a terrorist state they should be given fair warning and then drastic action taken. Seems we are nearly at the drastic action stage now.
Any area that fires missiles or sends drones over the Strait gets obliteration bombing would be my solution.

And the five Iranian nuclear weapons sites should be obliterated by any means necessary.

Does Trump(CF) have the guts to finish this war he started?

Well, the war isn't winnable. If one defines "a win" (and Trump has dementia; he hasn't defined "a win") then whatever "win" equals, it doesn't equal anything militarily realistic for the US.

I'd add Trump's doesn't have guts. He is a cognitively impaired con artist who is frightened half out of his mind that he will be assasinated by Iran.

The irony is Iran never planned to assasinate him until he assassinated Iran's head of state.

He isn't going to finish anything. He doesn't even know what he's trying to do let alone how to do it.
