Those first two statements are fine statements per se.

But Clinton did more damage to the county than any Republican could have done at the time. Deregulation of New Deal bedrocks, the private prison industry, NAFTA, economically corrosive global trade agreements... And nevermind the egregious way he conducted his private life with Epstein.

Obama took a wrecking ball to the Constitution. He's one to talk.

Any one of us could easily write a statement about recent events with the same content, tone, and general conclusions.

What action can either of these two take now to address the crisis? None?

Well, at least they managed to cover their asses.

Now her opinion I respect. She's not being performative. She means what she's saying.

After Minneapolis? I don't know. But living there must be hell.

I never thought I’d see the day when I agreed with MTG, but I agree with this:

“You are all being incited into civil war, yet none of it solves any of the real problems that we all face, and tragically people are dying.”

“Both sides need to take off their political blinders,” she said. “You are all being incited into civil war, yet none of it solves any of the real problems that we all face, and tragically people are dying.”

What? Does she think we take her as some sort of sage? Ha! No. I appreciate that she is speaking out, but she defends an assault on the Capital, and has spent years being a disrespectful, hard line, nasty so and so. It's not like she's had a major epiphany, it seems to me. I don't trust her. Still, the more people like her who turn on the orange bastard and his fascist administration, the better.

                The industrial revolution cheapened everything.

I think she had a Pauline conversion but that's just me. I could be wrong.

                    This is basically my take.

It seems to me that we don’t get out of this mess without current Trump supporters figuring out that they need to stand up to him and stand against him.

So yeah, MTG is a gross human being, but I hope she keeps speaking out against what’s going on in this moment.

I'm guessing the whole Tom Homan thing is a fake, and that the immigration strategy will barrel along, if with slightly quieter tactics. @axtremus has a thread about ICE surging in Ohio soon. And there's this look behind the scenes:

Also this from Minneapolis. A consulate??

Bovino “was removed, but the tactics so far are still the same,” Hernandez said. “Nobody now is trusting the government with those changes.”

The federal enforcement extended to the city’s Ecuadorian consulate, where a federal law enforcement officer tried to enter before being blocked by employees.

                        https://apnews.com/article/minnesota-immigration-enforcement-trump-ice-3a948e7e3a4d7e254e9c1fab93625953

                        From another AP story:

Ecuador files a protest with the US Embassy
A video of the Ecuadorian consulate entry attempt posted on social media shows a staffer running to the door to turn the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents away, telling them, “This is the Ecuadorian consulate. You’re not allowed to enter.” One ICE officer can be heard responding by threatening to “grab” the staffer if he touched the agent before agreeing to leave.

International law generally prohibits law enforcement authorities from entering foreign consulates or embassies without permission, though sometimes permission may be assumed granted for life-threatening emergencies, like fires.

“Consulate officials immediately prevented the ICE officer from entering the consular building, thus ensuring the protection of the Ecuadorians who were present at the time and activating the emergency protocols issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility,” the ministry wrote on X.

A “note of protest” was filed with the U.S. Embassy in Ecuador so that similar attempts aren’t made at other consulates, the ministry said. The State Department, Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement did not immediately respond to requests for comment..

I pointed out in a separate thread the one big beautiful bill gave practically unlimited funding.

They already have massive funding. So what's to keep them from using it?

                          I don't see an "after..."

The Democrats have failed. That's what they do best.
