Rained all day again, our lawn is mud, so have started hosepiping the dogs' legs before letting them back in.

On a positive note, after the driest summer since 1893 they just lifted the last hosepipe ban in the south of England.

I don't like rainy days as much as dry ones but for the trivial reason I don't have to clean up mud and have time to see to other stuff.

We have water. There are mains that need to be fixed every few months. The manager sends a crew immediately and we don't go without water for more than an hour or two.

We didn't get a lot of rain last summer. The weeds and grass didn't grow in the rock beds that needed to be replaced from the beginning. Again, I could see to other stuff.

There were no hurricanes on our side of the Gulf including Louisiana.

It was a lucky break after we the had two catastrophic hurricanes the previous season.

One caused major damage to my place. It took a year to get everything renovated and cleaned up.

I would be remiss not to mention the other hurricane caused catastrophic damage up through North Carolina after hitting us south of here.

I love rainy days all things being equal.

Today (Sat.) we go into the deep freeze, with a low of 7 degrees and a wind chill of minus 16 in the evening. Continues on Sunday.

Joe, Aren't you glad you aren't living on the street? I don't know how the homeless manage the winter here, let alone there.

It was minus 3 here early yesterday morning, and our 9 month old border collie was sat in an inch of snow crunching the thick ice off the top of our bird bath

It's warmed up here to high 60's/ low 50's. If only it would stay this way.

We're having one of those rare days of 25 mph winds. Love it.

33 degrees and light snow. Not much accumulation expected. Warming temps through the coming week.

                  Good.

in my sophisticated neighborhood, we compare the local weather online by placing adult beverages on our outdoor furniture and taking photos.

This morning’s shot from a neighbor:

70's/60's until Monday, Feb. 23 when it be (and Tuesday) low 50's/ low 40's.

Somewhat hard to coordinate everything with changing temperatures and no climate control.

Tomorrow, 20+ mph, barely reaching to 70 F and dropping rapidly to low of 40 F.

“Bomb cyclone” blizzard in NYC tomorrow. Up to 18 inches. We’ll see. I have rehearsals in Manhattan on Tuesday, concert in Brooklyn Wednesday. Supposedly.

Snow for the next four days. Pity, all of the snow from the last couple of storms has melted.

There’s a travel ban in NYC till noon Monday, also bans in surrounding communities. Out my window I see a few cars struggling up the hill. Nothing’s been plowed yet. A small benefit: it’s blissfully quiet.

It's 52 now going down to 49 but no worries because it will get back up to 52 again before it falls to 40. Or so they tell me. Moderate wind today again (that means 20 mph and in turn means wind chill). It will be cold today and tomorrow then start to warm up. I have no climate control and no hot water as y'all know. So I have my routine 3 months PCP appointment Tuesday. I'm going to try to move it to W, T, or, F.

Success for Thursday. 72° and not much wind. Less stress.

Took a cold shower at 50°. It actually wasn't bad because the water was about the same temp as the air.
