Candy store memories

Morrowโs Nut House here at Lloyd Center in Portland, Oregon. Caramel apples, those roasted cashews, candy. The shop is long gone. The mall is dying. It was the largest open air mall in the US when it opened in 1960. They did a big renovation in the 1990s but things have tanked from there. Itโs still a good place to walk, for now.

Flying saucers filled with sherbert omnomnomMy favourites as a kid were called crispets which were also in the shape of a UFO and I'd buy a quarter. Crispy milk chocolate with coconut.
No longer available but I think 'Crispy Bits' made in Scotland are the same.@AndyD said in Candy store memories:

As a kid, I used to love candy lipsticks - tasty and a way to feel grown-up (they colored your lips pinkish).

Sears and Roebuck candy and peanut counter, Coral Gables ... 1960s. I remember it well. The smell of fresh, warm, roasted cashews!

@Piano-Dad
That type of counter display is still seen here at some outdoor markets/craft/food fairs.
In Bowes Museum grounds last Saturday there was a stall with deep sections like that, of nuts etc including cashews. -
Not my first choice of sweet flavour I have to say
, even now
We used to have strawberry or lemon covered toffee bonbons
Like these
I was also partial to candy cigarettes
