What are you watching?

The new seasons of both Slow Horses and Only Murders in the Building. We are also watching The Orville, but it’s only okay.
-
‘Nobody wants this” . Didn’t think I’d like it but I really do.
-
We still have on the to do list getting a trial with Hulu to watch Shogun…
-
Shogun? Getting right on that are you?
I like Loudermilk. It is hilarious at times.
Bob likes Hope Street, which is a soap opera set in a small coastal town in the UK disguised as a cop show. It is entertaining.
Troppo is good. I thought Bob did not grisly things until we started it.
We watch TV from 7 to 9 most nights and usually agree on what to watch. Football has a priority (won't write that it trumps anything) -

The Automat. A documentary about the Hart and Hardart restaurants. I never ate at one, but still found the history to be fascinating. If you're from NY or Philly and ever went to an Automat you might enjoy it! Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, Elliot Gould, Colin Powell, and RBG are among the interviewees.

I watched it on TCM, but I think it's available on Max.
It was Horn and Hardart. I went there in NYC with my grandmother as a kid. Did they change the name of it for the show? Will check it out. Usually went there after the show at Radio City Music Hall. This was my grandmother's idea of a perfect NYC grandchild outing. My grandfather's was taking the subway from Queens to Coney Island, riding the carousel, getting cotton candy, then walking to his reclusive sister's place with a quart of milk and a loaf of white bread to check on her.

I'm up to season 4 of "Better Call Saul". It just keeps getting better. Initially I thought it was stupid and passed it over a few years ago. Then something made me check it out again. The depth and complexity of the characters has me hooked.
We also have been watching "Bad Monkey" which is pretty hilarious. I think it's on AppleTV.

No, they did not.
Correction made.

@CHAS after he threw up all over a grand piano I was done with Loudermilk.
I've had it with all the gratuitous vomiting on tv and in the movies anyway, but all over a grand piano was going too far. Won't turn it on again.

There's a WTTW (Chicago's PBS station) series called Chicago Stories. Even if you're not from the area, some of the episodes might be of interest to you.

And if you feel like seeing some sights but aren't able to travel, there's a new Geoffrey Baer program, The Most Beautiful Places in Chicago 2.

I think The Orville is pretty brilliant. It's a tough task to take such an iconic genre and make it both funny and compelling. Kudos to Seth McFarlane.

@pique Noticed a grand in the last episode I watched.
Will try to skip that episode. -
@wtg I remember going to Horn and Hardart across 42nd Street from Grand Central a number of times as a child. Kids loved that place. Pick your own piece of pie? Count me in!
-
@Quirt-Evans I believe that's the same one my grandma took me to! Just reading what you wrote I could see that slice of pie in my mind, clear as day.
-
@Mik When I wrote that we were in season 1. Now we are in Season 3. Now I agree with your assessment! It just took them awhile to figure out what they wanted to be!
