I grew up eating their tomato soups.

My mom made homemade soup all the time but claimed she couldn’t make tomato soup as good as theirs.

I’ve tried it as an adult and it’s like licking a block of salt.

That’s my problem with Campbells too - far too much salt.

Yea, fan of their tomato soup here also but avoid it now because of the salt. They do make low sodium and unsalted versions but I haven't tried either. I just checked the ingredients to see how they do on the ultra-processed front and I think they're actually not too bad.

There was also this recipe for a chicken dish that looked pretty good:

Could whip up some homemade tomato soup and give it a try....

Campbell's was the only commercial soup available in the small town I am from. We ate it. The tomato soup was special. I liked it.
Have been avoiding Campbell's in favor of Progresso and prefer soups from the Safeway in a nearby town on the rare occasion when I shop there.

Despite all the corporate denials (we use real USDA certified anti-biotic-free meats!) one has to wonder. Is this guy the smoke and there is fire all over the place in the company.

I have no doubt that lower- and middle-income families are their main market. The products are inexpensive, so their ingredients are as well. So? Disparaging your customers isn't in the marketing plan. Disparaging your employees does wonders for morale, and turnover.
