So, my roommate was tested by an immunologist. He didn't show me the results but he showed them to his sister.

    He was diagnosed with:

There's a Wikipedia page for it too but every time I try to add the link I loose my post.

He thinks he got it when he was in the ICU recently.

I'm at a loss to know what to think.

I do not have it as far as I know. Of course I don't want to get it.

Apparently, now they want to do the procedure where they put a line in your arm and a nurse comes with IV treatment. He doesn't know which drug or combination they want to use.

Does anyone know anything about this type of bacterial infection?

Does anyone know if a person (e.g. myself) could be immune to catching it?

This is all Greek to me. Of course I'm very concerned about my own health.

I'm not sure what I can do that I'm not already doing.

I'd truly appreciate any information or advice.

My best advice would be to talk to an actual doctor. From what I gather it can be serious in people with coexisting conditions, such as an autoimmune disorder. A doctor can assess your situation. In the meantime, take the usual precautions you would be taking. Wash your hands, if you share a kitchen, make sure everything is clean. Whatever you did with COVID precautions would be the type of thing to do. I don't think it's highly contagious, but it's not not contagious.

Thank you, Nina. I bought Clorox discs and 3 bottles of a Clorox spray that kills MRSA and even COVID. I sprayed down the bathroom, opened the back door, and didn't come back until it dried. We don't share dishes. We don't wash each other's clothes. I try to stay away from him and after today I'll try even harder.
