Who knew ours are different to yours. In design and content.
The ipaper 8 pages of puzzles had an American style this weekend along with the usual British concise, cryptic and general knowledge

          Three usual types

          General knowledge20250922_232817.jpg

          Concise(synonyms)
          20250922_232942.jpg

          Cryptic
          20250922_232733.jpg

Then we have grid types with direction arrows

              😀

Have you ever seen a patternless crossword puzzle? All white squares. No numbers in the puzzle. You have to figure out where the words start/end and fill in the black squares...

6 Down in the concise is probably "mole", as in a birthmark.

@AndyD so maybe the general knowledge one is closest to US crosswords?

                      8 across in concise, "racy"

                      The industrial revolution cheapened everything.

In concise, I think 17 down is "rake" and 18 across is "mass"

                        The industrial revolution cheapened everything.

Also in concise, I think 13 down is "cravat" and 19 across is "reaction"

                          The industrial revolution cheapened everything.

Jumbo General Knowledge, 48 across, I think "honeybee"

This one should be called trivia. I'm not good at trivia.
